Gambas al Pil Pil with Garlic Bread

Royal Foods raw shell-on Vannamei shrimp are perfect for the Spanish classic gambas al pil pil. They are cooked directly in the hot oil, making them juicy and full of flavor from garlic and chili.

Recipe for 2 portions:

Gambas al Pil Pil:

Garlic Bread with Tomato:

  • ½ sourdough baguette
  • 25 g butter
  • 1–2 garlic cloves
  • 1 handful parsley
  • 1 handful romantica tomatoes
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Prepare the garlic bread: mix butter with finely chopped garlic, parsley, salt and pepper. Spread the mixture on the bread, top with sliced romantica tomatoes and bake until the bread is golden.
  3. Pour the olive oil into an oven dish or small pan. Add sliced garlic, chopped chili and paprika. Heat in the oven for approximately 10 minutes.
  4. Peel the shrimp and add them to the hot oil. Cook for approximately 5 minutes, until the shrimp are just cooked through.
  5. Top with parsley, squeeze over lemon juice and serve immediately with the garlic bread.
  6. Dip. Enjoy. Repeat!
