Sustainability

Responsibility from sea to plate

At Royal Foods, sustainability begins with respect for the fish we source. We work with carefully selected suppliers and products where quality, traceability and responsibility go hand in hand.

For us, sustainability is not about big words, but about the choices we make every day. We aim to make the most of every resource, reduce unnecessary waste and offer seafood products that retailers and consumers can trust.

Our ambition is to be a reliable, long-term partner contributing to a more responsible food system — from sea to freezer, from store to dinner table.

Responsible sourcing and sustainable raw materials

We set high standards for our suppliers and partners. Through close dialogue and continuous follow-up, we ensure that our products meet our requirements for quality, food safety and sustainable production.

For fish and seafood, this means that:

  • wild-caught products are MSC certified
  • farmed products are ASC certified

These certifications support traceability and help ensure that the raw materials come from responsibly managed fisheries and farms.

Quality and food safety

Quality and food safety are fundamental to everything we do. Royal Foods is certified according to IP Livsmedel by KIWA and works in accordance with HACCP principles to identify, prevent and control risks throughout the business.

All our production facilities and partners are BRC certified, ensuring that production meets international standards for quality and food safety.

Environment and responsible use of resources

We actively work to reduce our environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable use of natural resources. We do this by:

  • setting requirements for efficient and responsible production methods
  • prioritising certified and traceable raw materials
  • working with suppliers who share our focus on sustainable development

We see the sustainable use of resources as a prerequisite for long-term access to high-quality food.

Responsibility throughout the supply chain

We expect our suppliers and partners to:

  • comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • act with sound business ethics
  • respect human rights and good working conditions

Through long-term relationships, we create the conditions for improvement, development and accountability throughout the supply chain.

Follow-up and continuous development

Sustainability work is an ongoing process. That is why we continuously work to:

  • follow up on our requirements and certifications
  • evaluate and develop our ways of working
  • adapt to new requirements from the market, customers and authorities

We see continuous improvement as an important part of our responsibility.

For the future

Through clear requirements, certifications and responsible partnerships, we want to help preserve natural resources and ensure sustainable food for future generations.

Royal Foods should be the natural choice for customers who value quality, trust and responsibility.
